We WENT on a Bear Hunt!

Did you know there are bears at Castle Kennedy Gardens? The children who went on a bear hunt with me found one. Everyone started by getting some special bear camouflage to protect them from any bears they might find.

“We’re going on a bear hunt.      We’re going to catch a big one.

What a beautiful day!     We’re not scared”

It really was a beautiful sunny day in the Gardens and we started our adventure by following the instructions in Michael Rosen’s book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. We went through long swishy grass, splashed through a river, squelched through oozy mud, stumbled through a dark forest and even went through a howling snowstorm to find the bear’s cave. When we tiptoed inside we found Castle Kennedy’s very own bear!

We all ran away and went back through the cave, the snowstorm, the forest, the mud, the river, the grass and finally got back home to hide under the covers where the bear couldn’t get us, Phew! Luckily we had created collages at each stage to record their adventure or other people might have thought we were making it all up! I hope you can all join me on another adventure soon!
