It has been our family’s honour to create, restore and care for one of Scotland’s hidden treasures for almost 300 years. These important historical Gardens, situated on an isthmus, consist of 300ha (75 acres) of sculptured landscapes, and magnificent avenues radiating out from the iconic Castle Kennedy ruins. Described as ‘one of the showpieces of Galloway’, it is one of Scotland's most important historical landscaped gardens with its collection of Rhododendrons, Championship Trees and rare species.

The Gardens are perfect for exploring and provides a fun day out for families, with a charming Tea Room, Gift Shop and Plant Centre.

We warmly welcome you to the Gardens and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Head to the Walled Garden to admire our current Plant of Interest: the delicate and beautiful Magnolia stellata! Its star-shaped flowers are a true sign of spring. 🌸

Keep an eye out, though! If you miss the Magnolia stellata's flowers (as it only lasts a couple of weeks), look for the equally beautiful Rhododendron augustinii. Either way, you're in for a floral delight! Ask our friendly staff where to find these in our Gardens.
