Head Gardener ‘Plant Propagation’ Workshop

Instead of our fortnightly guided walk around the Garden we made a change to the programme and had the first of two hands on workshops “An introduction to Plant Propagation”. I gave a brief introduction into plant propagation then went into the Walled Garden and demonstrated how to take cuttings and supervised while cuttings were taken. On returning to the work bench we prepared the cuttings. We then mixed up the rooting compost in the right quantities and inserted the cuttings into the compost. To finish off we discussed various tips for successful plant propagation.
