It’s buzzing today, and not just with bees. There are lots of enthusiastic human Pond Dippers, mainly families thronging the banks with me – the banks of the White Loch, the Black Loch and the 2-acre lily pond. This amazing pond – have you seen it yet?  You’d have to travel very far indeed to find another pond like this one.

We’d visitors too from Dumfries and Galloway’s Wild Spring Festival who joined in the fun today. Netted hundreds of different Mini-Beasts with the focus on newts. Big Mini-Beasts! We netted about 30 of them. Maybe they’re the reason for the disappearance of the tadpoles. Tadpoles do eat them…
