Egg-stra fun can be found at Castle Kennedy Gardens from this Thursday when kids are invited to enjoy an Easter Egg Bonanza taking place over the Easter holidays!
From Thursday 2 April to Sunday 19 April, families are invited to get cracking with an egg-citing new Easter Egg trail throughout the spectacular gardens, which is home to gorgeous spring flowers including budding Camelias and Rhododendrons.
Children can take part in a fun quiz and be rewarded with a delicious big Easter egg as part of the new trail which begins at the picnic benches by the Gift Shop, leading them through the many beautiful parts of the Gardens to find the hidden chicks.
The trail will guide families to the ancient 16th century Castle Kennedy ruins, through the secretive Walled Gardens, across to the Round Pond, up to the top of Mount Malborough and back through Thuja Avenue making it an ideal length for tiny toes as well as longer legs!
Families are encouraged to ‘share’ photos of their chick hunt on facebook, and upon completion of the trail will receive a delicious Easter egg. All entry forms will also be entered into a prize draw to win a family ticket worth £40 (two adults, two children) to see ‘The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’, an open- air theatre performance at the Gardens on Tuesday, 21 July.
Little ones can colour in the Easter Bunny on the Trail Entry Form with their drawings put on display in the Tea Room. The popular Tearoom is introducing a brand new menu for this, Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink, and will be open during the Easter Egg Bonanza serving light snacks of baked potatoes, sandwiches, toasties and delicious home baking. Access to the Tearoom is also available without paying admission the Gardens.
Other fun events coming up at the Gardens this April are; pond dipping with the Garden Ranger (8 and 15 April) Champion Trees Guided Walk (8 April), Garden Ranger – Bug & Mini-Beast Adventures (Sunday 12 April) and a Spring Blooms Guided Walk (22 April).
Castle Kennedy Gardens Easter Egg Bonanza costs £2.00, plus admission to the Gardens, and will run daily from 10am to 4pm between Thursday 2 April to Sunday 19 April.
